Meet the first insect I took a photo of for 2008 =D A ladybird on my son's stroller...lol.

While here's my first macro flower for 2008, sidewalk weeds which I do not know the name of and they grow with dandelions. They grow at least 5cm in diameter.
So, what is the first growing flower outside your house for this year?
nota bene: the flowers are lawn daisies (thanks Gerald!)

Spring in Vienna already!
ReplyDeleteLove the top image!
Just a little Sidney, it get cold again later this week (plus rain) Good day!
ReplyDeletethose are daisies - we've had half a dozen on the edge of our lawn for about six weeks now.
ReplyDeletethe dandelions don't usually spring up until the daffodils have died off - the daffs have been showing off nicely today.
Last time I saw a ladybird was when one landed on my wrist in Copenhagen in 2006
Gerald, they are too small to be daisies, they are only 5cm and are as big as the dandelions that grow with them...but the dandelions are not yet in sight...thanks for the input. =)
ReplyDeleteOk, I did a research on it and they are called Lawn daisies because they grow mainly on the lawn (and are considered weeds), the only daisies I know of are the bigger ones which resembles gerberas...Well, Thanks Gerald, I learned something new today!
ReplyDeleteVery nice to see the signs of Spring, somewhere; we have snow and rain forecast for tomorrow. I like the ladybug picture - great depth of field.
ReplyDeleteCute bug and cute weed! Spring is in the air, eh? :)
ReplyDeleteI think snow drops are the first ones to show up in early spring around here which won't happen for another four weeks. Sniff.
Daffodils! But, there are weeds such as dandelions and henbit too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Clueless in Boston, been looking for your name on you page, please leave your name next time so I can address you correctly =D
ReplyDeleteIt's alright Fenix, at least the plants and animals don't get confused if they are to come out of hibernetion and to spring up!
ReplyDeleteI saw some daffodils too (rambling round, please leave your name too)...too bad I do not have my camera with me then lol.
ReplyDeletewould spring have it a little in advance in Vienna?

ReplyDeletePansy's would be the first flowers I posted photos of in 2008 ... Your lady bug photo gave me a chuckle.
ReplyDeleteBlue Pansies are really cute! Had my daughter once painted a yellow pansy here. Ladybug poses as much as the kids does =D
ReplyDeleteDaisies as big as dandelions - never heard of them before.
ReplyDeleteOur snowdrops never came up this year!
I found the info of lawn daisies that they grow 2-3cm (Bellis perennis).
ReplyDeleteThe bigger ones has about 30 species including gerberas. Thanks Gerald!
They're both lovely shots! Like the flowers and the bug - all signs of life perfect to kick off spring.
