Vienna Daily

One Viennese photo a day.

When I was a kid I have an uncommon fear, that of mannequins, cemetery and church sculptures. I had this image in my head that they would move any given time. And there are lots of those creepy looking sculptures  back in the Philippines.

This fear would go on as I grew up.....thank goodness I left and where I am now, creepy sculptures are not to be found, they are wonderful works of art, though inspired from something creepy. Today, the fear isn't there and I laugh at myself when I remember how coward I was. lol. Nowadays, they have become beautiful photo subjects.

April 17, 2011, photo by hubby that I borrowed
Do you know the month of Nisan?  It is the first month of the ecclesiastical year and the seventh month (eighth, in leap year) of the civil year, on the Hebrew calendar. It falls sometime in March–April on the Gregorian calendar.

I always await the 14th day of Nisan, I watch for the full moon and take a good shot of it...this year though, I forgot to charge my batteries so it was hubby who took this photo at home. :) I make sure I have a photo of the moon on Nisan 14, it is the day that Jesus died for our sins.

A post for Skywatch Friday.

Penguin pool, Schönbrunn Zoo; April 2011

I like being a big fish in a small pond. I'm not interested in a huge audience because it brings headaches.

Last week, the weather was really nice going up until 17°. The perfect time for flowers to show themselves. The cherry trees, the plum trees, the pear trees, the peach trees, they were all blooming now. A lot of wind and rain there may be but I'm glad that I was somehow able to take some of spring's finest this year.

No need to explain why these are my favorite flowers.

The window is one of the few from the Birdhouse at the Schönbrunn Palace's Zoo. My son went on a field trip with their class and I tagged along.

How many birds can you count there? :)

My favorite flowers are out. Sakura/Cherry blossoms along with plum blossoms signals spring in Japan. Now as the flowers bloom hope blossoms anew.

We would like to thank everyone who helped and send their donations for our Send Boxes to Japan. We have sent 1 box today with your help. We will be sending another one so if you have some to spare please donate...the button is on the sidebar. Again, Thanks to everyone (bless your hearts)!

About Me

(^By Notting Hill Gate)

I enjoy both travel and photography. Although I haven’t been all-over the world, I try to document my journey and share it around. Here, my current hometown Vienna, a city I come to love not just for its intrinsic beauty but its overall aura of good vibes, I share bits and pieces of what to see and enjoy. -Marie Gizelle
