SMZ Ost
13 September 08
Two days ago I posted about the Socialmediziniches Zentrum Ost - hospital where most commented was really clean. Little did I know I'd be back there so soon because of an injury.
Today, around 3:50 in the afternoon, my youngest cried in pain more than he usually would. I screamed when I saw blood gushing down his right eye and cheeks...he was running when he hit the edge of the door jamb...he got an inch of a cut and all I can do was cry while I wipe the blood away...I called the ambulance (144 as my 7 y.o. daughter said, glad she remembers as I am confused with emergency numbers) and I was stuttering as I spoke, the ambulance arrived shortly after (like I mentioned the other day too, they are very reliable)....it was less than 10 minutes when they came. The attendants have their first aid kit ready (and it was a really big bag!) checked on baby boy's head and had it gauzed.
We were taken to the SMZ ost (where my youngest was also born and when I first experienced ambulance service). Along the way, important information was asked and written for admission to the hopsital...the medical personnel were really nice, they even showed my other son how the sirens work. We arrived at the hospital before 4:30 pm, and I could only say thank you to them as my mind was still whirling a little.
1. Before being called in at the hospital's emergency room. He didnt recieve stitches only a glue (I forgot what it was exactly) but its fine coz then it means the cut isnt so deep. He underwent the Röntgen and we were sent home afterwards.
2. He smiles as if nothing happened...

He looks like he’s just returned from a battle! He looks spritely enough, which means it can’t have upset him too much.
ReplyDeleteMy Henry had a stitch in his eyebrow after launching off a table at 16 months, and I had my fair share of stitches too as a kiddie. Doesn’t make it anything less than terrifying when they’re bleeding and screaming though!
I am glad to hear that he is okay, and that the hospital was clean too!
I hope that by the time you read this that your little boy is feeling a lot better na. I'm so sorry to hear about his accident. I hope you feel better too. Take care.
ReplyDeleteNice skywatch shot, especially the first but oh what a torrid time you had. Head wounds are alwys associated with a lot of blood and look frightening and it invariable hurts mothers more to see their little ones hurt than it hurts the children. Glad your 7 year old reacted so well when you were obviously sufferin from shock.
ReplyDeleteGute Besserung!
that's cute! he's a brave boy. thank God he's safe and happy now.
ReplyDeletehappy that it wasn't so serious, and the kid is now ok!
ReplyDeleteI hope he will be okay soon!
ReplyDelete;)
I know how you feel. My little girl fell from the crib before, and her forehead landed straight on the tiled floor giving her a very big bump. I was shocked because it happened right before my eyes and I wasn't able to prevent it.
ReplyDeleteGood to know your little boy is fine. :)
he must have just been shocked. looks like he's over it already. some experience for him and you need to sit down and have some tea, it must have been a fright for you.
ReplyDeleteglad all's well.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good emergency service to call on and a daughter who appears to have kept her panicing mother calm by the sounds of it.
great service! i wish we'd have something similar here ...
ReplyDeletei guess i would panic, too, if that happens to my son! good thing your son's made of sterner stuff than me! :)
