Sky Watch Friday - Screeeechhh....
20 Aug 08
After so many years of being drived on, this is how a curved street of Vienna looked...on the other hand, the Danube still looks calm and peaceful even on an unpredictable day (as seen from the train)...
Summer, as it always had the past years, seemed to be missing much of the sun...clouds are always gloomy and light rains continue to water the city at certain times of the day. Honestly, I find this kind of weather better than the sun's scorching heat. Wait...isn't it autumn yet? (I had to mentally note, September 22 is the start of autumn lol) I guess autumn started earlier again!
The water reflected the gloomy sky....

Love the sailboat on the water, reflecting the gloomy sky.
ReplyDeleteCrisp and beautiful captures! Thanks for stopping by:D
ReplyDeleteMine is here;
Sky Watch #8
Domo ne:)
Two such very different images. I would never have thought to photograph a street purely from the point of the tyre marks. Good thought. The water that the yacht is sailing on is so very still. Grey is still a good colour. We just have to adjust our mood accordingly.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
We've been having a good summer, weather-wise, it's been cool and pleasant, although today I think we are getting up there in the 80s.
ReplyDeleteLove that street shot, you know me and my street addiction (among other things).
Thanks for visiting my blog. It could be a Sky Watch picture but I couldn't wait. I will post SWF on my other blog. Smallcityscenes.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteLater anyway.
Your pics are wonderful. It does seem like we too have had more gloomy days than sunny. Apparently we have broken records for rain in August. Oh well next year something different. MB
Nice catch for SWF! In the sky, there is no distinction of east and west; people create distinctions out of their own minds and then beleive them to be true. Mine’s up too hope you can drop by… Happy SWF!
ReplyDeleteIt's odd, but autumn seems to have arrived in Toronto, Canada too!
ReplyDeleteNice photos.
Great captures for sky watch!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the glimpse of Vienna. I used to live near Munich many years ago but I was not able to visit Wien. Great sailboat photo too.
ReplyDeleteBetter a grey day than a drought. We finally got some rain. It was great.
ReplyDeleteNice post.

Great photos! I hate the scorching hot sun as well.... I am looking forward to the fall time in a bad way! =)
ReplyDeleteMountain Retreat
The place looks very vintage with those beautiful buildings :) The red bus there is looking vintage as well. I would love to be there on that clear day :)
ReplyDeleteIt has been 30 years that I last been in Vienna - but it still is as beautiful as I remember!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Klaus
Hi Gizelle,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the award, and sorry for the delay in collecting it... You know, things get worse here when everybody else is enjoying their vacation...
I'll try to get back with some more time to enjoy your pictures... When? ;)
Beautiful photos, I love the sailboat photo! Looks so peaceful and relaxing!
ReplyDeleteI love that first photo of all the beautiful buildings against the sky
ReplyDeleteVey contrasting images, but I'm a sucker for a lonesome boat.
ReplyDeleteHello Gizelle! Two very nice views for Sky Watch! You have changed template: this one is good too.
ReplyDeleteAbout your question on my blog: Turin is the translation in English of Torino.
Happy weekend!
what's with that weather? gloomy indeed!
ReplyDelete"Louis" likes the composition of the photo of the boat. It has a nice calm feel of solitude about it.
ReplyDeleteRegarding your question about the hill Chez Louis, "Louis" shot that photo halfway down the hill! It is VERY steep!

ReplyDeleteBoth of these photos are very nice. I especially liked the top one as I had never seen your city before.
ReplyDeleteI love the curve on the street. I looked like a running track! Haha!

Great shots as always, G. :)
ReplyDeleteOur summer's not that great either. We're getting too much rain and the mornings are getting cool again. Fall is making an early return I think :(
