Watery Wednesday - Gray Danube
20 Aug 08
Another photo of the Danube, this time on a sunless afternoon. Despite the gloomy appearance of the surrounding, sails weren't discouraged.
Yachts, sailboats and paddle boats are available for rent by the Danube's bank. I am not entirely sure how far do their sails stretch. Though there are smaller cruise ships that travels around Vienna via the Donaukanal or the bigger ones cruising onto Budapest and near cities.

In their own way I think the gray days are just as beautiful as the blue ones. Great shot! Makes me wish I was there taking pictures of my own. :-)

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place. I love the mountains in the background.
ReplyDeleteI have only visited Salzburg in Austria before. My Mom actually was born in Graz. So Austria would be another fun place for me to vist to see some more of my roots.
ReplyDeleteAh Die Schönen Blauen Donau! Not so blue that day but still beautiful. Such a mighty river. The mountains and the church spire in the background really make this photo. Very excellent composition.
ReplyDeleteThe image taken at night below for My World is simply exquisite my friend.
