While You see Butlers and Interio, the outside seating is actually for Cafe Michele. A very nice little Italian restaurant with probably the smallest kitchen in Vienna. Good coffee at reasonable prices. The menu offers pizza, pasta and other smallish Italian snacks. The service is quick and friendly and in the mood for a little light-hearted joke.

You have to be very careful not to run past. This restaurant is so small and inconspicuous. But the taste of the freshly prepared delicacies is what makes it great.

Berliner Babo is a relatively new food shop at Mariahilferstrasse. This outside seating area belongs to them. Will try their menu soon so I can feature them properly.

"At Berliner Babo, the burgers are made from fresh, high-quality ingredients and are the perfect snack for your hunger." - My kind of place. ^_^

Starbucks has a unique position in Vienna, a city renowned for its rich coffee culture and historic cafés. Here’s how Starbucks is generally regarded in Vienna:

  • Mixed Reception: Starbucks in Vienna receives mixed reviews. Some locals appreciate the convenience and consistent quality of Starbucks, while others feel it lacks the authenticity of traditional Viennese coffeehouses.
  • Popular with Tourists: Tourists often flock to Starbucks because of its familiarity and consistent offerings. It's a go-to spot for those seeking a quick and predictable coffee experience.
  • Youth Appeal: Younger Viennese and expats tend to frequent Starbucks more than the older generation, drawn by the modern ambiance, free Wi-Fi, and trendy drinks.

Vienna’s traditional coffeehouses, like Café Central and Café Sacher, are cherished for their historic significance, unique atmosphere, and classic coffee options. These establishments offer an experience steeped in history and culture, which Starbucks cannot replicate.

  • Traditional Viennese cafés provide a leisurely, immersive experience, encouraging patrons to savor their coffee and enjoy their surroundings. In contrast, Starbucks is more oriented towards convenience and takeaway options.

  • Menu Variety: Starbucks offers a diverse menu, including international favorites like Frappuccinos, lattes, and seasonal specialties, which can be a refreshing change from the traditional Viennese coffee options.
  • Modern Ambiance: The ambiance at Starbucks is modern and comfortable, featuring contemporary décor, ample seating, and amenities like power outlets and free Wi-Fi, making it a popular choice for students and remote workers.

  • Local Adaptations: Starbucks has made efforts to adapt to the local market by offering Vienna-specific products and occasionally incorporating local flavors and traditions into its menu.
  • Coexistence: Starbucks and traditional Viennese cafés coexist, each serving different segments of the market. This coexistence allows both types of establishments to thrive without significantly infringing on each other's customer base.

Starbucks exists alongside the cherished traditional Viennese cafés, which continue to dominate the city’s coffee culture with their historic charm and unique ambiance.
