My World 13 - Security

It was a beautiful winter moring. The street, spotless and not much people could be seen.

Vienna, as I have known it , criminality-wise, has very low amount of it. Six years ago, there would be no security guards deployed in the city. You can go about and do your business without having to worry that your stuff would be stolen. Things changed though, just last year security guards became visible in public and private firms alike. Just goes to show how criminality has risen in the past years.

I took this shot before approaching them, one saw my camera and said that I shouldn't be photographing stuff inside the train station as it is 'verboten.' I smiled and showed them the photo (lol) and I explained that I maintain this blog about Vienna. So should they see this post; Sirs, please let me say 'thank you!'

  2. That's great that they understood when you explained your photographs were for your blog. Security is an increasing issue in so many places where it didn't used to be. Good shots and post.

  5. That's a good point. Security is ubiquitous, and makes us nostalgically think about those "simpler days" when we didn't have to be so preoccupied with it.

  6. You were lucky. Marley in Cheltenham was told not to take images. Well done for being so brave.

  11. I thought I already commented on this. Well I guess for blogging's sake everyone is amenable, eh. I onced asked a policeman for his permission before I photographed hime and he even smiled for my camera.

I hope Vienna maintains a peaceful living environment for its citizens.
